[001] Choose Domain Name
I needed a website. I want to make indie games and share my experiences along the way. As a full-time worker and a father of a 4-year-old girl, this is no small goal, but I’m excited to get started.
Choosing the domain name was very difficult. Initially, I wanted a cool, creative, and meaningful name. However, coming up with one felt like travelling into an endless black hole. If the name is completely new, it feels like no one would know what the site was about. If the name is modified from existing words, it looks childish.
After a week of thinking, I decided to come up with one workable name, not the perfect name. So I started looking for available domains joining keywords. I was amazed at how many names were taken. So by the time I found “kidgameschool.com” was available I had to buy. I was happy for a moment.
And then… nothing happened for over a year.
So currently I’m writing a story that happened over a year ago. This can happen again but at least my dream won’t go away.
